What's up friends?

It is so great to be back with you again bringing another episode that was made just for you.  I hope you are all enjoying the week so far, and are savoring each moment and each bite. That brings me to this week's episode.

One of the very first habits I teach my clients when we first start working together is to slow down when they are eating.

I know. It's not super sexy.

And you might have been expecting some massive overhaul to the pantry or a radical meal plan that cut out all their favorite foods or a strict calorie restriction..because you know, eat less and move more (insert eye roll).

BUT, that is not what we work on first. And perhaps never. Instead we work on forming some new basic habits. Eating slowly happens to be the first one for most of them.

The benefits of eating slowly are crazy. For instance, better digestion, better hydration, and more satisfaction from your  food...all from chewing slower.

I mean, have you ever noticed how when you throw an entire peanut butter cup into your mouth and pretty much inhale it, that it didn't quite hit the spot like you wanted?

That is because it takes time for our brains and our bodies to communicate.

Plus, slowing down while you eat can also help your body better absorb the nutrients in your food and you will likely end up eating less. (another big bonus for my clients that tend to overeat --either out of habit or for another reason).

Make sure you are set up to win by starting with the basics. Hit play and listen up. There is something for everyone in this episode---yes, even the slower eaters too ;)

Want to learn about how we can work together--whether around basic nutrition habits nobody ever taught you, or improving your relationship with food, your weight, or your body, or anything else lifestyle related?
